An Ideal Food Use Enzyme for Alcohol and Brewing
HA-450FG is a food grade Alpha-Amylase derived from Bacillus licheniformis through submerged fermentation and refining extraction processes. HA-450FG is an endoamylase which can rapidly decrease the viscosity of gelatinous starch solutions by randomly hydrolyzing starch, glycogen and its degradation products within the alpha-D-1,4 glucosidic bonds to produce soluble dextrins and oligosaccharides.
As a very robust Alpha-Amylase with superior thermal and pH stability, HA-450FG has found its wide application in the production of alcohol.

EFFECT OF PH
HA-450FG is active over a wide pH range. It works at pH from 4.8 to 6.0 with its optimal pH from 5.0 to 5.9. The exact pH optimum depends on actual processing conditions, including temperature, substrate concentration and time.
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE
For interval liquefaction, HA-450FG works at temperatures from 80 to 100°C with its optimum temperature ranging from 83 to 86°C. It liquefies starch substrates promptly at 90 to 95ºC and maintains highly active at 100ºC. For consecutive liquefaction, HA-450FG demonstrates its exceptional thermo-stability at high temperatures ranging from 105 to 110ºC and keeps on liquefying efficiently for 5 to 7 minutes.
Copper, titanium, and cobalt ions are moderate inhibitors for HA-450FG whilst aluminum, lead and zinc ions are strong inhibitors.
First adjust pH to 5.0 to 5.9, then add HA-450FG. After this enzyme is added, heat the slurry to liquefy at a temperature range from 83 to 86ºC for 90 to 150 minutes. The final DE value should be maintained at a range of 10 to 12.
Dosage of HA-450FG is dependent on the actual application conditions including starch substrate, process, substrate concentration and other factors. To optimize the dosage rate, it is recommended to conduct a number of liquefaction trials prior to routine use of this product. A good starting dosage rate is 0.15 ∼ 0.18kg/TDS.

STORAGE AND SHELF-LIFE
Storage at customer's warehouse 0∼25°CTypical shelf-life is six months if it is stored below 25°C in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from direct sunlight. Its shelf-life will be eighteen months if it is stored properly at 0∼10°C. This product has been formulated for optimal stability. Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperatures may lead to a higher dosage requirement, therefore should be avoided.
SAFETY AND HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
Inhalation of dust or aerosols should be avoided due to enzymes may cause allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. Splashing should be avoided. Spilled product should be flushed away with water immediately. Wear suitable protective gloves, safety glasses and nose covers. In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for further information regarding how to handle the product safely.
