Product Description
BOLI Heat-Stable Alpha-Amylase HA-450L
For Fuel Ethanol Production
Rapidly decrease the viscosity of gelatinous starch solutions
Halal and Kosher Certificate
DESCRIPTION
HA-450L is produced from strains of Bacillus licheniformis through submerged fermentation and refining extraction processes. It is an endoamylase which can rapidly decrease the viscosity of gelatinous starch solutions by randomly hydrolyzing starch, glycogen and its degradation products within the alpha-D-1,4 glucosidic bonds to produce soluble dextrins and oligosaccharides.
As a very robust Alpha-Amylase with superior thermal and pH stability, HA-450L is applied to the production of ethanol.
BENEFITS
Use of HA-450L offers the following benefits for ethanol production:
1.Quick viscosity reduction allowing for higher concentration of solids
2. Lower viscosities improve heat exchanger efficiency
3. Improved performance at low slurry temperatures
4. Desirable cost-effective liquefaction
5. Stabilized products maintain constant activity during storage
6. Higher-activity products reduce stockpile, handling, and shipping costs

EFFECT OF PH
HA-450L is active over a wide pH range from 4.5 to 6.5 with its optimal pH ranging from 5.4 to 6.0. The exact pH optimum depends on actual processing conditions, including temperature, substrate concentration and time.
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE
For interval liquefaction, the effective temperature range of HA-450L is 80 to 100°C (176 to 212℉), the optimum temperature range is 83 to 86°C (181.40 to 186.80℉). It liquefies starch substrates promptly at 90 to 95ºC (194 to 203℉) and maintains highly active at 100ºC (212℉). For consecutive liquefaction, HA-450L demonstrates exceptional thermo-stability at temperatures from 105 to 110ºC (221 to 230℉), maintains its stability for 5 to 7 minutes and keeps on liquefying efficiently.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
In general, first adjust pH to 5.4 to 5.9, and then add HA-450L. After this enzyme is added, heat the slurry to liquefy at a temperature range of 83 to 86ºC (181.40 to 186.80℉) for 90 to 150 minutes. The final DE value should be maintained at 10 to 12.
Dosage of HA-450L is dependent on the starch substrate, application, process, substrate concentration and other factors. To optimize the dosage, it is recommended to conduct a number of liquefaction trials prior to routine use of this product. A good starting point for dosage rate is 0.10 to 0.20kg/TDS.
PACKAGING
HA-450L is packaged in 25kg, 30kg HDPE plastic drums, or 1125kg IBC totes. Customized packaging is available upon request.
STORAGE & SHELF-LIFE
This enzyme has been formulated for optimal stability. Typical shelf-life is six months provided this product is stored below 25°C (77℉) in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from the sunlight. Its shelf-life will be eighteen months if it is stored properly at 0∼10°C(32∼50℉). Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperatures may lead to a higher dosage requirement.
SAFE HANDLING OF ENZYMES
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
